What it’s all about

The Russley Social Club is for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed, fun round of golf – whether you’ve never picked up a club before or you’ve played a little. There’s no competition, no pressure, and no need for a perfect swing. Golf can sometimes feel intimidating or exclusive, but at Russley it’s about connection, laughter, and community.

How we play

• Teams of four

• 9 holes, Ambrose style – everyone hits, then the team plays again from the best shot

• No stress, no stiff rules – it doesn’t matter if your swing isn’t polished

This format keeps things light, social, and perfect for beginners or anyone who just wants to have fun.

How to join in

Register on your own, with a friend, or as a team of four – everyone is welcome and we’ll make sure you’re part of the fun.

You can either purchase a casual ticket for $30, or join as a social club member for $30/month and attend multiple events and receive additional club benefits! To find out more about the Social Club, email membership@russleygc.co.nz or find out more on the night.

When it happens

The Social Club runs 5.00–7.30pm every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursday of the month starting in October:

• 1st Thursday – Girls’ night

• 2nd Thursday – Guys’ night

• 3rd Thursday – Open to all

The extras

• Fun activities on some holes

• Spot prizes to keep things interesting

• Drinks and snacks afterwards in the clubrooms – a great way to meet new people and wrap up the evening together

Inclusive by design

Russley Social Club is proudly welcoming of all, including our LGBTQ+ communities. This is social sport that’s about people, not labels. Our non-binary community is welcome at any event.

What to wear

Forget the polos and pressed slacks. Just come in whatever you’re comfortable in – casual gear, sneakers, even jeans are totally fine.
