Rust Pop-up Gallery

Event description

Rust is an environmental fundraising pop-up gallery, celebrating a diverse selection of local and interstate artists. BYO - Glassware provided.

WHEN: 19th June, 6pm-7:30pm

WHERE: Our gallery will 'pop-up' at a venue in Fyshwick. Ticket-holders will be notified the day before the event.

ABOUT: Rust is intended to strike reflection about where we have come from and where we will go. Is it right to be optimistic about tomorrow? Or will we be trampled under the ongoing march of machinery?

Artistically, this will be exhibited in pieces that have brought new life into relics of the past, or provoke thought into the future. This will be thematically represented in recycled, modern, and postmodern art. SOME PIECES WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA SILENT AUCTION.

As much as possible, the voices we seek to platform are those from diverse backgrounds, offering many perspectives to be considered. In our own small way, the Rust team seeks a better world. This event is not-for-profit and all proceeds will be donated to helping the environment.

***We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we are meeting on, the Ngunnawal people. We wish to pay our respect to their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region, and also acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded***
