Ruth Lorelle + SO-FI
Event description
Ruth Lorelle writes and produces alternative synth pop music on Dharawal land. With intimate lyrics about their experiences as a queer artist, Ruth's song hold the listener through all the every human emotion; from love and grief, to nostalgia and melancholia. 3D Movie is Ruth Lorelle's debut single. Written as the height of the global pandemic, and the height of their Ableton hyperfixation, the synth bop explores what it's like to lose your community as an independent artist in this isolated world.
Ruth Lorelle is joined by SO-FI, the solo project of Sophie Monteiro (Nut Butter), an emerging singer/songwriter and guitarist with a unique warmth and vulnerability. Offering smooth velvet tones of rhythm and harmony, SO-FI reflects deep rooted influences from soothing rock to old-time jazz.Â
