Sustainable burial options: information session
Event description
Tweed Shire Council Cemeteries invites you to a free event exploring sustainable conscious burial options.
Owner Director Halie Halloran of Paperbark Deathcare Funerals and cemetery staff will present burial and cremation alternatives to a standard coffin.
Alternatives include being buried or cremated wrapped in a natural fibre shroud on a bearer or encased in a biodegradable wrapping of paperbark on a bearer – gentle choices for those who want their final act to tread lightly on the earth.
The free event will be held at the picturesque Tweed Valley Lawn Cemetery & Crematorium on Thursday 7 August from 10 am to 11:30 am.
After the presentation, enjoy morning tea and chat with cemetery staff about what’s available and how these options might support your values or those of a loved one.
This event is part of Local Government Week, celebrating the many services Council provides beyond roads, rates and rubbish.
