Event description

V☆☆☆☆☆

Our next edition of Strange Tastes is a special ode to Agave spirits, namely the much loved and respected casa Herradura, the home of Tequila.

Translating to Horseshoe in Spanish, this family distillery was named in the 1800’s by a distiller named Aurelio López Rosales when he found a horsheshoe whilst toiling in the agave fields near Amatitan. We will learn more about the legend of Hurradura on the night and hear a bit more about the region of Jalisco, the birthplace of everyone’s favourite spirit.

☆☆☆☆☆

On the night we will be sampling the range of Blanco (silver), Reposado, Anẽjo, plus a rare taste of some special offerings, including the new ‘Legend’, and the Ultra crystalino Anejo

Officially established in 1870 in Amatitán, this house of Tequila has been producing quality 100% Blue Weber Agave spirits for over 150 years. That’s a lot of time to fine tune, develop and grow, it’s also a LOT of tequila! Over the years the brand has won many awards and paved the way for production and sustainability while also providing a platform for women to become master distillers (a first in the Tequila industry).

Jamie will take us through the range and give us a feel for what techniques are involved and what the particular terroir of the plantation imparts onto their beautiful products.

A delicious selection of snacks will be prepared by our team of kitchen crew which will compliment the tasting. Let us know your dietary requirements ahead of time so we can try to cater to you!

This is a FREE event, however as places are limited, RSVP is essential.

Booking fee of $10 is fully redeemable over the bar on the night. We have implemented this due to no shows that were causing others to miss out but as always, this is an educational experience put on by us, for you!

If you wish to cancel your booking, please do so via the Humanitix website so that we can kindly offer your place to someone else.
