Strange Company invites you all to come down and spend an evening with us and local wine aficionado Paul Fahie for our Bi-Weekly tasting event, this time showcasing the diverse range from the Barossa's own Rusden Wines!
On the night we will be sampling their favourite picks of the season and getting a feel for what their particular terroir imparts onto their beautiful products.
A delicious selection of snacks will be prepared by our team of kitchen all-stars which will compliment the tasting. Let us know your dietary requirements ahead of time so we can try to cater to you!
A little bit about the winery:
"We believe that we are custodians of the land. Our job is to care for it as best we can and pass it down from one generation to the next. We also pass down the traditions that were taught to us by our forebears."
The team at Rusden tend the vineyard by hand, and more recently as the winery has grown, they have adhered to more traditional methods in the cellar. The focus is on traditional Barossa varieties and blends, however they have proven they are not afraid to give different varieties a go as Australia’s wine industry is still in its infancy comparatively to the rest of the world.
The rolling vineyard is planted in Vine Vale; with a terroir of deep white sand over red clay. Vine Vale is hands down one of the most versatile and consistent grape growing districts on the Barossa Valley floor. Their wines display a unique character with balance and structure. They are fruit driven which allows the lucky sipper to taste the individual flavours within the wines of this particular site.
vigneron: (n.) Someone that works and harvests their own vineyard for the production of wine with respect to terroir and viticultural traditions. The Rusden range carries an obvious house 'style' because they are all made and grown the same way, in the same soil. They honestly represent their vintages and the makers of Rusden vino embody the term “vigneron” in the true sense of the word.
On the night we will be sampling the 'Chasing Daisies' Grenache Blanc / Roussanne / Clairette, the 'Poco Loco' Rose, the 'Driftsand' Grenache / Shiraz / Mataro, the 'School Days' Shiraz Viognier and the Chookshed Zinfandel! Super exciting!
