Welcome to new Bachelor of Arts students joining the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS)! 🎉
This is a compulsory orientation session for all commencing students studying the Bachelor of Arts including any dual programs listed below:

What to expect

BA Welcome: 10:15-11am

• Find out important information about starting your degree.

• Meet your program director and get a clear understanding of your degree structure.

• Connect with your peers.

• A formal welcome to the HASS community!

BA Majors Expo: 11am-12pm

• Explore your major options and chat with major convenors.

HASS Expo: 12-1.30pm

• We'll head over to the Expo Hall to check out the HASS Expo!

• Discover HASS: Learn what it means to be part of HASS.

• Support services: Find out about the support services available to you.

• Meet new mates: Bond with your orientation group, connect with fellow students from around the world and discover clubs and societies you can join.

• Fun games & activities: Participate in interactive games and activities.

• Tasty treats: Enjoy delicious snacks.

• Freebies: Take home some awesome goodies.

Event details

• Check-in: Please arrive at the UQ Centre. Doors will open from 10:00am to check into the event.

• Tickets: Your ticket will be emailed to you on the morning of the event.

• Finding the venue: Explore our UQ Maps app to effortlessly find your way around campus. Download UQ Maps for free from the App Store or Google Play Store.

• Compulsory sessions: ​​​​​​​Sessions are marked as compulsory because they offer a valuable experience for new students, but attendance is not mandatory, and you won’t be penalised for not attending. Slides from the sessions will be posted on the HASS Orientation website after Orientation Week.
