SA Compassionate Communities Network 2026-27

You're invited to join the SA Compassionate Communities Network, bringing together individuals, community groups, organisations, projects, and academics who are passionate about strengthening support for people experiencing serious illness, dying, grief, and caregiving across South Australia.

Compassionate Communities are informal networks of support around people experiencing a serious illness, dying, grief, and caregiving. They recognise that care at the end of life is not solely the responsibility of health services, but of the whole community.

The network provides an opportunity to connect with others working in community development, health, social care, research, and volunteer sectors, share ideas, initiatives, and learnings, be inspired by innovative approaches, and identify opportunities for collaboration across South Australia.

Whether you're involved in an established Compassionate Community initiative or simply interested in community-led approaches to palliative care, everyone is welcome.

Meeting Dates (10:00 am – 11:00 am ACST/ACDT):

• Thursday 12 November 2026

• Thursday 11 February 2027

• Thursday 6 May 2027

A maximum of two staff members from each organisation may join the network.
