    Event description

    Playing for All – Youth is a games-based program for children and young adults with intellectual disability/autism aged 8-17 years old. It helps them get active, make friends and have fun while learning important life skills.

    Playing for All sessions are delivered in a safe and supportive environment by qualified coaches who run activities that promote movement, teamwork, decision making and communication. Coaches also teach players the importance of being fit and staying healthy.

    These fun and inclusive sessions run for up to 90 minutes, over a ten-week term, with a break before the next term starts.

    Playing for All is perfect for those who;

    • aren’t interested in competitive sport but would benefit from being active and having fun with others.
    • who want to play sport but want to try different activities to build the skills, behaviours and confidence to take the next step.
    • play sport already but want an additional activity or to learn new skills.

    The ultimate outcome for everyone is to enjoy being active – and to stay active for life!

    Duration: 60-90 minutes of game-based activities and instructional learning.

    Sessions include:

    • small-sided games that allow for high involvement
    • games with modified rules, area and equipment to promote inclusion and prompt understanding
    • Health education and social activities

    Your Goals
