SA Member Series: The Psychology of Decision Making - An Introduction to Behavioural Economics

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Philanthropy Australia SA team invites you to join us for a thought-provoking seminar in which we will explore the psychology of decision-making and how those insights can support marketing and fundraising activities within your organisation.

Behind every decision is a human brain that has mastered the art of taking the path of least resistance.

While traditional economic theory assumes that we are all rational people who consider all the information at hand to make a logical decision, Behavioural Economics looks at the psychological factors that influence our decision making – and shows that we’re not rational at all!

We are heavily influenced by external factors, and once we understand what these factors are for our audiences, we can adjust the way we communicate with them – and achieve better results.

Guest Presenters:

  • Silvia Knoppien is an Account Director at integrated marketing consultancy communikate et al, with more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications and marketing. She has a strong interest in how Behavioural Economics principles can be applied to marketing, communications and design to maximise campaign outcomes.
  • Rebecca Moriarty is a Project Manager for Philanthropy Australia and part of the Policy, Government Relations and Research team. Rebecca will present recent findings from a new report from the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA): It actually works – how behavioural insights can increase workplace giving.

This session has been designed with for-purpose member organisations in mind, however this event is open to all members and we would love to see you there.

Morning tea and refreshments will be provided.
