Event description

Coworking Robots Industry Update with The Robot People

Collaborative robots are growing in use across industry, but have barely scratched the surface of the work they can do. Perhaps people think they are like traditional industrial robots, which they are not. The simplest way to understand how cobots and industrial robots differ is that cobots are designed to work alongside human employees, while industrial robots do work in place of those employees. Cobots are also more easily programmable than industrial robots because they are capable of “learning” on the job. Cobots excel at repetitive, precise tasks, freeing your valuable employees for more complex, rewarding roles and improvement efforts.

The Robot People are a group of automation and robotic experts. Along with training and ongoing support, The Robot People hold Machinery Safety Expert and Universal Robots Training certifications, with safety being paramount to their automation applications. Their clients extend to major multinational organisations, large and small SME manufacturers, leading edge education and technology groups. All of whom are seeking not just the supply of equipment but importantly to draw upon our broad manufacturing experience for advice and support.

Matthew Tisdale, Managing Director of The Robot People, will present this masterclass on the state of the art in coworking robots. Specifically, he will detail, with examples, the capabilities of cobots and dispel some of the misconceptions that the cost, complexity, and limits of ‘robot’ systems that don't apply to Collaborative Robotic technology.
