Event description

Calling all primary schools, teachers and students!

Be part of the world-first ‘Sacred Earth, Sustainable Futures: First Nations Climate Playhouse’ - an interactive climate solutions experience that will be held during Climate Action Week Sydney 2025 at the Australian Museum.

The experience will intertwine First Nations Caring for Country knowledge with the magic of embedding innovative nature-based solutions in our communities, creating a space for education, connection, and inspiration.

Students will go on a journey to:

Connect: Immerse in a visually stunning Acknowledgement of Country - and connect to Country by naming and decorating a recycled paper leaf with natural inks.

Explore: Use hands and feet to explore sacred earth imagery and sustainable futures imagery with interactive floor projection games.

Imagine: Imagine a greener future of Sydney with a Lego powered mission, inspired by First Nations knowledge of Caring for Country.

Empower: Create native seed bombs for students to plant at home, giving students a tangible way to care for Country.

This experience provides students with interactive sustainability and First Nations perspectives integrated across learning areas.

The experience is supported by a 2024 Innovation and Ideas Grant from the City of Sydney, and will be delivered by 100% First Nations owned business TIPIAC Pty Ltd and Be The Future, in collaboration with additional First Nations businesses.

This experience will run for 50 minutes. Maximum of 30 students and 4 teachers/parents/carers per session. If your group arrives late we'll need to deliver a shortened experience to keep to the tight schedule.

Don't miss this unique experience to connect with Country, learn from ancient wisdom and innovative solutions, and be inspired to take action in our communities for our planet.

We encourage you to explore other aligned exhibitions at the Australian Museum on the day, such as Burra and Future Now. To explore the museum, you'll need to book a self-led visit (General Admission) to the Museum via this page.
