Event description

Sacred Rapéh Tobacco Ceremony; Sound healing Journey with Drum, Singing Bowls , Flute , Rattles & Didgeridoo

- Facilitated by Fabio Rodriguez Diaz from Colombia.

The Rapéh (also spelled "Hapé") Tobacco Ceremony is a profound sacred practice originating from the wisdom of Amazonian tribes. This ceremonial experience centers on the intentional use of Rapéh, a finely ground blend of medicinal herbs, seeds, and sacred tobacco (mapacho). This ceremony aims to ground participants, cleanse energetic blockages, and open pathways for deeper spiritual connection and clarity. This unique Rapéh Tobacco Ceremony offers an opportunity for introspection, energetic alignment, and connection to ancestral traditions.  It serves as a gateway for those seeking healing, clarity, or a closer relationship with themselves and the natural world. Whether attending for personal growth or spiritual exploration, the ceremony provides a sacred space to release, realign, and reconnect.

Setting: In nature- surrounded by our great ancestor trees on the serene land of Wonga Park.

What is the process?  Rapéh is administered through a "tepi" (a V-shaped pipe) which is gently blown into the participant's nostrils. This process delivers the medicine directly to the third eye and crown chakra, creating an immediate grounding effect.

The Experience itself?
Upon receiving Rapéh, participants often experience a moment of stillness followed by sensations of release and alignment. The medicine works to clear mental chatter, detoxify the body, and awaken spiritual awareness. Many report a heightened connection to nature, deepened clarity, and a profound sense of peace. The ceremony incorporates guided meditation, moments of silence, and optional sharing, allowing participants to integrate their experiences in a supportive space.

The spirit of tobacco reminds us of the importance of reciprocity—giving as much as we take. It calls on us to approach it with gratitude, humility, and purpose, honoring its sacredness and the wisdom of the Indigenous cultures that have safeguarded its knowledge. When used with respect, the spirit of tobacco can be a profound guide, opening pathways to healing, connection, and transformation. Its power lies not in the plant itself, but in the relationship we cultivate with its spirit.

We humbly acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land we now know as Wonga Park. We honor the wisdom, resilience, and sacred connection of the Wurundjeri ancestors who walked this land before us, tending to its waters, forests, and spirits with deep care and respect. We recognize the enduring presence and contributions of Wurundjeri Elders today, who continue to carry the flame of their culture, sharing knowledge and traditions that enrich us all. We extend our gratitude to the generations yet to come, whose connection to Country will guide and sustain this sacred land into the future. May we all walk gently on this earth, in harmony with its teachings, and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of reconciliation, respect, and unity.
