Safe Churches Refresher - November 23rd 2026
Description
Safe Church Refresher Workshops are designed to refresh and update Church and Agency leaders and volunteers.
The Safe Church Refresher Workshop is provided every three years for leaders who have previously attended a Safe Church Awareness Workshop.
Workshops are facilitated by trained presenters, hosted by local churches, and attendance is recognised under the National Council of Churches in Australia Safe Church Training Agreement.
Topics include:
Relevant changes and updates to legislation, policies and procedures
New areas of focus and information regarding Safe Church practices
Review and discuss progress of implementation
Explore and review key issues
Explore practical applications
Safe Church Refreshers explore the Christian foundations of safe ministry, duty of care, vulnerable people, child protection (abuse prevention), due diligence in the recruitment and supervision of all church leaders, and the management of program risks.
Certificate of Attendance will be provided.
Participants must have previously attended the full-day Safe Church Awareness Workshop – Leaders, paid and volunteer, must have attended the full-day in-person workshop or L1 & L2 online workshops. (Please note: L1 workshops only are provided for volunteers serving in ministry areas who do not have leadership of others ie – team leaders, elders, staff)
