Description

Would you know what to do if someone invited you to talk about suicide?

safeTALK is a globally recognised, evidence-informed suicide alertness workshop that helps participants recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide and connect them with the support they need.

Many people experiencing thoughts of suicide give invitations for help, but these signs are often missed or misunderstood. safeTALK teaches participants to recognise these invitations, ask directly about suicide, and connect the person with someone who can provide further support.

During this workshop, participants learn to:

  • Recognise invitations that may indicate someone is thinking about suicide.

  • Talk openly and directly about suicide.

  • Respond in a safe, confident and compassionate way.

  • Build confidence to connect someone with appropriate support.

  • Explore how your attitudes and beliefs can affect your ability to help.

  • Understand the important role everyone can play in suicide prevention.

Participants learn through presentations, group discussion and practical skills practice in a safe and supportive environment. The workshop builds confidence to recognise opportunities to help and take action when it matters most.

The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over, with no previous training or experience required.

Morning tea will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
