Salama Reunion Island Maloya Music

Salama are an award winning Perth-based collective who share a passion for Maloya, a traditional percussion and vocal-based music from Reunion Island. They perform the styles found in the Indian ocean region with their connections to  Africa, Southern India, and beyond.

In this show expect powerful songs of resistance, connection and hope, with dance and song that have uplifted communities and connected generations. Get ready to take a journey across the Indian Ocean on the west side of Australia to a history and culture that is unique in its vibrant expression and incredible trance rhythms.
