Salsa Fever!
Event description
A Celebration of Latin Jazz
Brisbane's premier Latin jazz night is finally here with music and dancing that'll keep you on your feet all evening.
The night kicks off with a salsa workshop led by Suci Kurniati, renowned Indonesian dancer and choreographer who has performed with the Franck Muhel Dance Ensemble and at major venues including Lincoln Center in New York. Her blend of Indonesian roots with international dance styles makes for a unique learning experience, welcoming both beginners and experienced dancers.
Then it's time for the main event: Mitch Frohman and the QYO Big Band. Frohman is a legendary saxophonist who played with Tito Puente and composed the iconic Sex and the City theme song. He brings his decades of New York Latin-jazz expertise to Brisbane, backed by the 19-piece QYO Big Band who are fresh from preparing for their upcoming Japan tour. Expect authentic Latin jazz that demands dancing.
Salsa Fever is your chance to experience genuine Latin jazz culture right here in Brisbane. Learn some moves, hear exceptional music, and dance the night away with fellow music lovers.
