Join us at SAM for an in-conversation event with artist Dr. Bridget Hillebrand as she chats with SAM’s Artistic Director, Danny Lacy, about the creative process and inspirations behind her immense sculptural paper work River, her experiences at the Venice Biennale, and the new forms the work takes on in every new iteration. River is currently on display in The Shape of Things to Come on SAM's Level 1.

About the artist:
Dr Bridget Hillebrand is an interdisciplinary artist based in Naarm/Melbourne – Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country, Australia. She completed her PhD project Climbing the landscape: Mt Arapiles – explorations in place and the printed image, at Monash University. Her visual research explores the relationship between the physicality of making images as a response to the corporeal dimension of the experience of place. Her artworks have developed through a variety of forms including print, artist books, audio, video, art objects and installations. Her recent projects reflect upon human impact on shifting ecological systems.
