Event description

Brisbane based artist and former Canberra Sam Wrangle returns to Canberra with band in tow touring his new single 'Cast Away'. Joined by Big Reef and Dog Box.

If you’ve ever been drinking on a veranda during a muggy Queensland afternoon in the midst of a cataclysmic break up, you’ve probably familiarised yourself with the sound of Sam Wrangle. He gives listeners the choice to either reflect on a pending existential crisis and life’s intricacies or to drink in a schooner of XXXX Gold soaked nostalgia.

The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from the nation’s capital invites listeners into a sun-kissed introspective realm in his brand new project, where washing your car in your best flannelette shirt reviewing every single triumph, heartbreak and loss is a decent Saturday afternoon.

Originally a bedroom pop project, Sam Wrangle has since expanded into a collaborative trio for casual shows, and quartet for more formal ones. Some songs are written by Sam, and others have been jammed extensively – fully harnessing the accomplished musicianship of drummer Sandro Abate, bassist Tom Anderson, and rhythm guitarist Geoff Wilson (The Good Ship, The Melancholics). Musically, they have been compared to The Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Cure.

ALBUMS: SAM WRANGLE (2023), SMOKEY SHADY (2023), A WORD FOR TOXIC (2021)
