SAME Café's 20th Birthday

SAME Café is turning 20, and we’re throwing a birthday party celebrating two decades on East Colfax. Join us for a free, reservation‑only celebration featuring a sit‑down dinner, drinks, and all the joyful, birthday‑party shenanigans you’d expect from a community that has shared delicious meals for 20 years.

We’re celebrating at Dry Clean Only, the same venue that hosted SAME Table this past March, to welcome 200 friends from across the café’s history. Community members from the early‑days, volunteers, longtime regulars, former staff, new staff, neighbors, donors, and everyone who has helped shape SAME Café over the years.

Expect a night filled with good food, shared stories, and traditional birthday traditions: piñatas, a celebratory video, plus an inclusive and interactive DIY timeline. Celebrate the good times, the hard times, the early times, the COVID times, and the BRT construction times. The 20th birthday is a celebration of resilience, community, and the countless meals and memories that SAME Café has served over the years.

It has been twenty years of community, dignity, and healthy food, and we can’t wait to celebrate it all with you.
