Sampler Course in Screen Production
Event description
Join us for an immersive one-day workshop on the fundamentals of screen production, designed for students aged 16-18. Whether you're a filmmaker exploring new avenues or a curious mind eager to delve into the world of film production, this workshop will equip you with essential knowledge and practical skills to kickstart your journey in the film industry.
This Sampler Course includes:
SP101: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
Exploring industry roles and operations, possible career paths, development opportunities, funding bodies, and distribution platforms.
SP102: TOOLKIT
Discussion surrounding structure, requirements and limitations, script formatting, and other pre-production documents. Workshop on camera and lighting, audio, and other departments.
SP103: APPLICATION
In groups, students will shoot using SAE’s state-of-the-art production equipment and studios.
SP104: WORKFLOW
Premiere Pro workflow, editing theory, sound mixing, export formats, distribution materials and pathways.
CC105: SHOWCASE
Students will put on a mini-festival, share their final exports, and discuss their learning journey.
The workshop will be held on campus at SAE Auckland, using the state-of the-art studio facilities. We are a 5 minute walk from the Parnell train station or there is plenty of street parking that is free on the weekend.
