Sampler Course in Songwriting
Event description
Join us for an immersive one-day workshop on the fundamentals of audio production, designed for students aged 16-18. This workshop will prepare you with skills for in the recording studio as well as on stage.
This Sampler Course includes:
SM101: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
Exploring industry roles and operations, possible career paths, development opportunities, funding bodies, and distribution platforms.
SM102: SONGWRITING ESSENTIALS
Students explore songwriting techniques, storytelling motifs, and basic song structure.
SM103: RECORDING 101
Working with Audio Production students, students will get to record a song in SAE's state-of-the-art studios.
SM104: ON STAGE
Working with Audio Production students, students learn stage presence techniques, and rehearse a live performance.
CC105: SHOWCASE
Students will put on a mini-festival, share their final exports, and discuss their learning journey.
The workshop will be held on campus at SAE Auckland, using the state-of the-art studio facilities. We are a 5 minute walk from the Parnell train station or there is plenty of street parking that is free on the weekend.
