Event description

Reverie of the highlands: A visual journey through Pakistan's spectacular North

'Reverie of the Highlands' captures the unparalleled vistas of Gilgit-Baltistan, one of Pakistan’s most breathtaking regions and home to the iconic K2 and Nanga Parbat. The book was a collaboration with the Serena Hotels to showcase the beauty of Gilgit Baltistan. Through vivid photography, it takes readers on a journey across this pristine land, offering an intimate glimpse of the true Gilgit-Baltistan: its rugged mountains, serene lakes, bustling bazaars, and warm-hearted people.

About the book author:

Gaynor Shaw is passionate for creative portraiture and travel documentary photography. Before becoming a photographer, she worked for the Australian aid agency AusAID, providing aid to developing countries. She has a diploma of photography from the Canberra Institute of Technology.

The author is the wife of former Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dr Geoffrey Shaw (currently, Director-General of the Australian Safeguards and Non-Proliferation Office). Dr Shaw will be present during the event.

Discussants:

Hassan F. Virk
