Sauna Hat Felting Workshop & Sauna Session

Join the Sauna Collective for a hands-on felting workshop and sauna session! In this immersive workshop you'll learn how to felt a traditional sauna hat from scratch using quality merino wool, prefelts, yarn & some silk fibres. Our master felter Evelyn Davis will guide you through each step — from preparing the wool to felting and shaping your own unique hat from wild and out there to simple & stylish! All materials are provided.

We'll kick off at 9:30 am and work through the felting process until around 1–1:30 pm. Morning tea and snacks will be provided to keep you fuelled throughout the morning. Once you've finished your hat, we'll head to the sauna to unwind together with three 15- 20 minute sauna rounds to close the session. Expect to be finished felting & Sauna by 2:45pm.

The workshop takes place at the Emerald Inn, 16 The Promenade, Takapuna. Please arrive by 9:20 am to get settled. Bring two towels for the sauna plus a third old towel for handling wet wool, along with your swimwear/sauna gear. Spots are limited to 12 participants.
