Save the Living Wage in Government Contracts

The government announced on Wednesday last week that it was scrapping the living wage as a requirement for all government contracts in cleaning, security, and catering. This means that thousands of workers across Aotearoa will no longer be guaranteed the living wage. Our event aims to bring together community, union, and faith groups to support our call on New Zealand First to uphold their commitment to the movement, as stated at our election forum, and to keep this policy in place. In addition, we are supporting our drive for people to submit against the proposal to remove the living wage in the government procurement window.
