Event description
Join us on Sunday the 10th of August from 2pm for another SAW: Sawtooth Artist Workshop - Sashiko Patching with Adelphie He.
“Sashiko is a traditional Japanese running stitch technique that strengthens thin fabrics or repairs wear and tear. The stitching style and technic became popular in the underprivileged class during the Edo ear in Japan for both practical and decorative functions, making fabrics and garments more durable and functional.
In this workshop you will learn the brief history behind sashiko thread running technic, patten drawing, and later make a sashiko patch to take home with.
All materials are provided. Feel free to bring your own fabrics or garment pieces you would prefer to repair or have the stitch on. Feel free to bring rulers if you have some.”
