No Domestic Violence Walk - Georges River

The Georges River No Domestic Violence Walk will be held on Friday 29 November 2024 marking the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence in the Georges River local government area. 

This event is intended to promote positive change – encouraging all people of all ages to stand up against domestic violence in the Georges River community. It coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and is a key annual event for our local government area.

The event will commence with formalities and speeches from highly regarded professionals working in the sector, as well as personnel with with lived experience of domestic and/or family violence. Attendees will then stand as one and march from Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Carlton to Kogarah Town Square to raise awareness of domestic and family violence, and show the community that we won't stand for it in Georges River.

Time: 10:00am - 12:30pm

Location: Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Jubilee Ave, Carlton NSW

Wear: Comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen. Please also bring a refillable water bottle.

Safety and Access: The road will be closed for the duration of the walk, with staff marshals to assist along the way.
