Scattered Visions, Hidden Treasures at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre
Event description
Hidden behind tall trees and a bus stop, Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre is one of Hornsby’s best-kept secrets — but not for long. This beautifully preserved 1903 mansion will burst to life this August with Scattered Visions, Hidden Treasures — the second edition of a widely celebrated exhibition featuring four talented women artists, each working in a distinct and captivating medium.
Explore evocative oil paintings by Carolyn Doherty, inspired by landscapes from Korea to Fowlers Gap; intricately crafted mosaics by Hadijah Munting, repurposed from single-use coffee pods to create striking visual narratives often spotlighting endangered birds; delicate printmaking and luminous acrylics by Julia Elsey of Pine Valley Studio; and exquisite silver and semi-precious stone jewellery by Rachelle Juter - true wearable treasures.
Don’t miss the opening celebration on Saturday 23 August, 3 to 5pm — meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and experience the warm, creative energy of this local haven.
Whether you’re hunting for unique, affordable art or simply keen to uncover a slice of Hornsby’s hidden history, this exhibition is well worth the trip.
Four women, four mediums, one unforgettable show.
