    The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

    Participants will learn what a Work Breakdown structure is, its purpose, how to use it, the formats and numbering options, and how to create one. Participants will create their own WBS and then learn strategies to estimate the duration of each job.

    Estimating Case Study

    Participants will learn how to approximate their camping trip by performing job approximations.

    Identifying Task Dependencies

    Participants will be taught the four types and their essential definitions in this session. To give participants some practice, they will be required to complete two exercises.

    Aligning resources with tasks

    Next, participants will be able to learn about Resource Breakdown Structures resources and resource scheduling.

    Project Planning

    Participants will learn how to create network diagrams using the Critical Path Method and the Program Evaluation and Review Techniques (PERT) and Gantt charts. To create a network diagram, participants will be guided through the entire Critical Path Method.

    Scheduling Software

    Participants will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of project management software.

    Doubt Management and Risk Management

    No matter how we choose to deal with it, there are always risks involved in any endeavor. Participants will learn how to manage risk.

    Communicating

    Participants will be able to learn about the four main elements of communication and get a framework to communicate with other members of their project teams. Participants can also create a communication strategy.

    Develop a workable program

    This section will bring together all the topics from the previous sections to create a schedule. Participants will also come up with solutions to common scheduling issues.

    Monitoring and updating of the Schedule

    Participants will be given some time management tips to wrap up the class.
