School Holiday 1 hour Creative Dance and Mindfulness Sessions

Event description

Come and try! Wild Heart Centre is running 45min to 1 hour creative dance and mindfulness sessions on the two Wednesdays during the school holidays. See schedule below.

Where? At the Mount Egerton Mechanics Hall. (Mount Egerton is 5 mins from Gordon).

Who is it for? Classes are designed to be inclusive- open to all neurotypes, genders, and abilities, and are facilitated by a qualified professional teacher, and dancer with more than 20 years experience. Various age groups are invited to participate- see the session times below.

What can you expect? A child-centred approach, a wide range of music styles to evoke the imagination, props and a decorated space that invites curiosity, and invitation to explore the energy in the room, yoga inspired warm-up stretches, a gentle approach to instruction, with ample possibility for young people to interpret how they wish to move within the suggestions. A storyline for the younger age groups. A sense of connection and belonging, especially for the older age groups. Parents are advised that other than the "Seed Group" for toddlers, there is no spectating for these sessions, unless invited in the last five minutes by the children themselves.

Dress code is: Comfy and layered- (so you can remove layers if too warm). Wear something that stretches, and that you feel comfortable moving in. Most of us will be dancing in bare feet or socks. Dance shoes are also ok, but not required. Outdoor shoes are not suited unless for stability or support.
