School Holiday Fun with Rivarossa Botanicals
Event description
Get creative with nature these October school holidays at Kings Park! In this hands-on workshop, kids will explore the magic of plant-based art using the flower pounding technique to transfer natural colours from flowers and leaves onto fabric and paper. We’ll then experiment with acids and alkalis to see how they can transform and modify the colours in surprising ways.
If time allows, we’ll also head out to forage leaves from the surrounding area and create stunning blue-and-white prints using the sun-powered cyanotype process. This workshop is a fun mix of science, art, and nature—perfect for curious and creative minds!
