Event description

Two smartphone filmmaking workshops with the world leaders in smartphone filmmaking from Sydney's SF3 - the SmartFone Flick Fest.

Have you ever wanted to make your own film that screen in film festivals around the world? Or are you a content creator or You-tuber and want to learn how to shoot more professional quality videos? Then these classes are for you. And if you did our class last year then we will be pushing you to extend the skills you learnt to make a more professional and technically advanced film.

Come and learn everything you need to know to create amazing and professional films on your phone or tablet. We will teach you all about screenwriting, cinematography, resolution, frame rates, editing, music and more but in a super fun and accesisble way.

SF3 is one of the biggest smartphone film festivals and smartphone educators in the world and each year we hold an annual festival which includes SF3 Kids - a special awards ceremony and screening for films made by filmmakers 18 years and under. We also have our SF3 Gala Awards Category for filmmakers over 18. Each student who attends this workshop will get free entry into SF3 2024.

Class Agenda

SF3's Angela Blake will run the workshop alongside local award-winning filmmaker, Michele Jedlicka. Angela will teach an online component of the class on Monday 22nd April from 5:30-7:30pm via Zoom where she will teach all the skills and techniques needed to turn your phone into a professional movie camera. She will also teach screenwriting and start you thinking about what film you will be shooting in your class. This workshop is for all students.

In these classes Award-Winning filmmaker, Michèle Jedlicka, will guide you through the shooting and editing of your film: giving detailed notes, helping you add music and sound effects, titles, credits and all the little things that will take your films to the next level.
