SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOP: Make your own RELIC

Be inspired by the RELICS: A New World Rises exhibition and create your own RELIC: a miniature artefact from the future.

Just like the tiny civilisations in RELICS, you'll use your imagination to transform everyday and recycled materials into innovative inventions for a future world. Imagine a car made from plastic bottles that runs on old bath water, or a school backpack that transforms into a skateboard powered by leftover sandwiches. The possibilities are endless!

Participants will design and build their own future relic using a variety of provided materials.

This workshop is suitable for children aged 5-13 years. Participants are welcome to bring a selection of interesting materials from home, such as small packaging, old toys, or found objects, although plenty of materials will be supplied.

Accompanying carers must remain available throughout the workshop to supervise and assist young makers.

Please note: This ticket is for the workshop only. If you would like to visit the RELICS exhibition during the same visit, a separate exhibition ticket is required. Visitors attending the 10:30am workshop are encouraged to book exhibition tickets for 11:30am, and those attending the 11:45am workshop are encouraged to book a 1:00pm exhibition session.
