School Holidays Art Camp
Event description
Ages 7 to 15 | 9AM to 5PM | April 17th
Art Camp
Your child is invited to a content-packed, yet relaxed and mindful school holidays workshop day, at the beautiful Tamworth Community Centre. Drop the kids off for 8 hours, and they will have plenty of opportunity to learn, play and improve their skills with dedicated, experienced artistic educators; a wide array of high quality artistic resources and materials; access to fresh air and exercise in a grassy courtyard, and opportunities to socialise.
Kids will have the option to attend 4 different workshops from professional artists over one day:
4 Art Classes in one day
9:00AM-10:30AM- Kite Making with Sophie Honess
11:00AM-12:30PM- Sculpture with Ava Clay
1:30PM-3:00PM- Flip Book Animation with Danny Stanley
3:30PM-5:00PM- Paper Puppets with Logan Hughes
We understand that not every class is for every kid, and so kids also have the option to...
Choose Your Own Adventure
Use the schools resources, such as figures, books and materials, to make a masterpiece your own way, while enjoying the company of other little artists and guidance of the teaching artists.
Big Break
These school holidays, we are running a one day Art Camp instead of a two day. We understand, that for some, this will be a big day. So we have dedicated time for a big break in the middle of the day, for lunch, games, and movie time.
Exercise Breaks & Games
We understand kids can only concentrate for so long at a time - so, every hour and a half, we give them the chance to completely forget what they're doing, and run and play outside for twenty minutes or so. When they return, they have the option to continue what they were doing, or focus on new skills. This combination of variety, choice and rest allows kids' minds to stay fresh and engaged over long periods of time.
The Community Centre has a large grassy courtyard, with shady trees, where the kids can play with provided bats, balls, skipping ropes, etc, or just enjoy a snack under the shade of the trees. We will also occasionally run exercise and drama games throughout the breaks.
Food
Light food provided, such as sliced fruit and bottled water.
Kids to bring their own lunch.
Teachers on the day:
Danny Stanley
Sophie Honess
Logan Hughes
Ava Clay
