10 - 10.55am: Tycho Goes to Mars - ages 5 to 12 years
Join Tycho on an adventure in what’s set to be this year's most exciting, animated children’s film. We’ll learn all about the major features of Mars, including the ancient volcano Olympus Mons and the canyons of the Valles Marineris. Tycho is in search of water to fly his steam-powered space kennel back home. But how will he find water on Mars, when it looks so cold, dusty and dry? Luckily, he discovers a new friend, Oppy, who is all too eager to help. Oppy – the NASA rover, Opportunity – has lots of experience exploring Mars and hunting for water. She is thrilled to share her knowledge of the red planet with a fellow space explorer.
The show also includes a guided ‘What’s in the sky tonight’ and Indigenous stories presentation.
Please arrive at 9.45am via the Forestville Library 24/7 entrance for ticket check-in (Science Fair doors open at 10am).
11 - 11.55am: The Great Solar System Adventure - ages 7 to 12 years

From the sun-scorched surface of Mercury to the icy expanses of Pluto and beyond, prepare to be subjected to the myriad dangers and wonders of our Solar System, on a breathtaking tour that reveals just how precious our home planet really is. Be warned though, the Observatorium isn’t just for show. It will transport the audience right to the heart of some of the deadliest locations in our slice of the heavens. It’s going to take some fancy flying to get everyone back in one piece!

12 - 12.55pm: Stories in the Stars - the Night Sky of the Boorong People - ages 8 to 12 years
European night sky stories are familiar to many people. However, the stories indigenous to the southern skies are less well known. Although different Australian Aboriginal groups have different astronomical traditions, there are some broad similarities. Explore Indigenous Australian astronomy in this fascinating mobile Planetarium show. Find out how Indigenous culture describes constellations that cannot be seen from northern latitudes. Even constellations that can be seen from Europe appear a different way in the sky in the southern hemisphere.
The show also includes a guided ‘What’s in the sky tonight’ presentation.
Please arrive at 11.45am for ticket check-in outside Classroom 1 at the Science Fair, Forestville Library and Arts Centre.
