Early Jury Picks Screening
SCINEMA is a science film festival that started in Canberra in 2000 and in 2025 Canberra film critic (and occasional programmer for Elsie’s Film House) Cris Kennedy is picking up the reins as Festival Director.
This ‘Early Jury Picks’ screening is a chance to see a few of the Festival Jury’s favourites before the Festival program is announced (entries close on our screening day, and the program will be announced in early August). Program includes a handful of locally produced films
Chamaeleon (D: Liz Lea, 2025, 5 mins),
The Royal Australian Mint(D: Georgia Arndell, 2025, 5 mins).
International films include
in*flu*ence (D; Evan Luchnow & Kelly Sutherland, 2025, 5 mins, Canada),
The Last Atlantis (D: Chih Hao Shen, 2025, 3 mins, Taiwan),
Waves of Ink (D; Alyssa Stoller, 2024, 10 mins, Iceland), and
Death Row Dogs (D: Somerset Phaedrus, 2025, 20 mins, UK).
Program will be introduced by Cris Kennedy.
