SCLWN Training Event: Compassionate Conversations

This training event, in partnership with Cruse Scotland, will focus on talking compassionately about death, dying and bereavement. The course is designed to build CLWs' confidence and insight about the differing expressions of grief responses following bereavement. It will support CLWs to convey compassionate responses, whilst demonstrating genuine understanding and support.

The course will support CLWs to:

• build confidence to communicate with compassion to those who are grieving, following a bereavement

• help them to consider grief in the context of their role

• develop an understanding of compassionate conversations which in turn increase confidence in discussing grief themes

• consider the impact of working with grief themes and how to manage individual self-care and wellbeing.
