About Cam Smith

Five months after graduating with the Class of 2007, Cam Smith enlisted in the military under the Gap Year program and his life changed forever.

From frontline combat in Afghanistan to serving with Australia’s elite 2nd Commando Regiment, Cam’s career has been defined by high-risk operations, constant learning and deep camaraderie.

After a decade of service, he successfully transitioned into international defence training and sales. Between 2018 and 2024, he travelled to more than 30 countries.

Life for Cam could never be described as boring!

About The Scots Legacy Series
The Legacy Series is a powerful celebration honouring the remarkable achievements of our alumni men – trailblazers who have not only excelled in their fields but have also left an enduring impact on our school community.

This event serves as the balance to our annual International Women’s Day celebration, where we showcase and celebrate our successful women alumni. Together, these occasions ensure we recognise the breadth of talent and leadership that Scots has nurtured.

The Legacy Series shines a spotlight on stories of success, resilience and leadership, reminding us all of the extraordinary potential that grows from within our classrooms. Together, we will celebrate their journeys, their influence and the legacy they continue to build – shaping the future of our school and inspiring generations to come.
