Hello Dancers

Here at Scottish Country Dance Victoria we are on a mission- to bring SCD to a whole new clan of Melburnians with TryItOut Events and follow on courses for new dancers. If you have ever done the Gay Gordons or the Dashing White Sargeant at a wedding, you are miles ahead of the game. And if you are a complete newbie, you are in the right place. 

SCD is a social dance. It is not Highland dance BTW. It is more like bush dancing only more formal and structured. Hand contact only. No partner needed. We dance in sets of 6-8 people. All you need is soft shoes like sneakers to start with. Sorry but our events are not suitable for primary school age children and for teenagers only if they are keen and preferably have a background in another dance style.
