After the spectacular success of the 2024 Creative Wollongong Short Film Festival, Wollongong City Council and Screen Illawarra are pleased to invite you to the launch of the 2026 Creative Wollongong Short Film Festival!
When: Tuesday 12th August, 6pm - 8pm. Speeches commence at 6:30pm
Where: Pepe's on the Beach, 2-14 Cliff Rd North Wollongong
Cost: This event is free, open to Screen Illawarra members and non-members.
We are delighted to welcome Lord Mayor Tania Brown and Alison Byrnes MP to officially launch the festival. You will also hear from the Co-Director and Producer of the film OVER, the winner of the 2024 festival who has since become a huge global success.
The signature theme for 2026 will be officially announced, we will outline the timeframes and processes for the festival, plus some very exciting news about a new venue!
Like the 2024 event, Screen Illawarra members can submit their scripts to be independently judged and five scripts will be matched with a local professional production company.
This is also a great chance to not only connect face-to-face with the Screen Illawarra Board and fellow members, but other local industry professionals and creatives.
