Event description
Welcome to the Screen Illawarra's end of year showcase. This is a fundraiser for Screen Illawarra, as well as a way to celebrate the hard work of our members and the films made throughout the year.
The films that will be playing on the night are listed below:
Dear Ocean, I Love You
Synopsis: A short coming of age film set in the 90s. Dear Ocean, I love you follows a young woman as she reflects on her first love and struggle to accept herself

Skull Hunters
Synopsis: When two young teens hear about a skull that's washed up on the foreshore of Lake Illawarra they decide to go find it and get famous. After a day of fruitless exploring, the voice of reason comes from one of their little brothers who has tagged along. But perhaps they have already awakened the attention of the netherworld. Will they get more than they bargained for after all?

Deface the Memory, Destroy the Heart
Synopsis: A young woman reflects on the emotional devastation wrought by the dissolution of her extreme performance art.

Trip down Memory Lake
Synopsis: Joey remembers and reflects on his memory of New Years Eve seven years ago as he returns to Lake illawarra to keep a promise he made to a special friend.

Synopsis: A woman with a stalker outside and a difficult flat mate at home learns she’s afraid of the wrong people.

Even the Ghosts Have Gone
Synopsis: A troubled countryman refuses to evacuate his rural property as a catastrophic bushfire blazes towards him. He must abandon what he believes to be true, in order to save himself.

Cruisin’ To The Nightlife
Synopsis: 1980's Port Kembla; the nightlife is sparse as the grungy streets are filled with nightwalkers, muscle cars and punters. This animated / live action clip has references to W'Gong music, films and even some recognizable locations.

Walking Alone
Synopsis: A poignant short film about John, a grieving widower who isolates himself except for his dog, Banjo, and a stranger, Anna, who shares a lakeside bench. After Banjo's passing, John is forced to confront his loss, finding solace in Anna's gentle encouragement to heal

Youth
Synopsis: As elderly Tony ventures to Lake Illawarra with his caregiver, a poignant journey into his past unfolds when he crosses paths with a young couple in love.

The Crown
Synopsis: The tranquil waters of Lake Illawarra become a battleground of envy and ambition as Little Fish's prized crown sparks a chain of events. leading to a struggle for power among underwater inhabitants, ultimately revealing the true cost of unchecked desire beneath the waves.
