OVERVIEW Tutor: Sally Picker and Sharon Taylor Dates: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2025 Time: Saturday 9am to 3pm, Sunday 9am to 2pm Cost: $200 current NPW and NSP Members only. NB There will be an additional $20 for firing if required- payable directly to the tutor Enquiries: printpottery@gmail.com Venues: Saturday - Newcastle Printmakers Workshop, 27 Popran Road, Adamstown Sunday - Newcastle Studio Potters, Back to Back Gallery, Cooks Hill. This course is for members of Newcastle Printmakers Workshop and Newcastle Studio Potters. It requires a minimum of 4 participants to proceed. Saturday 21 June 10-3 Location: NPW Students will: Watch a demonstration of coating screens. Expose a precoated screen using their own design. Print a background colour onto quality paper using acrylic inks. Print their design on the background. Sunday 21 June 10-2 Location NSP Students will: Screen print onto clay or tissue (for transfer onto clay pieces). Explore applying prints to shapes and forms such as adding backgrounds, textures, adding partial prints, repeat printing etc. Materials Students will need to bring lunch. Tea & coffee provided. Wear covered shoes, bring an apron and be prepared to enjoy a creative weekend. Covid Safety: Participants must checkin, wash or sanitise their hands immediately upon entering the workshop and maintain physical distancing whenever possible during class. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been directed to isolate, you must not attend class. ABOUT THE TUTORS Sharon Taylor: Sharon is a ceramic artist who has been creating and exhibiting ceramic artworks locally since 2007. She is a member and tutor at the Newcastle Studio Potters Workshop and has recently opened Wedge Ceramic Art Studio in Gateshead NSW where she produces her work and holds regular classes and workshops. Sharon has a Bachelor of Fine Art (hons Ceramics) from the University of Newcastle.
