Event description

On Thursday May 1 at 5:30pm please join the San Geronimo Valley Community Center and PACT (Parent Alliance for Conscious Tech) as we present a screening and post film discussion of the award winning film Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. Parent and software engineer Eddy Hueso will facilitate the post film discussion.

FILM SYNOPSIS : Are you watching young people immersed in their screens — scrolling through social media, playing video games, and losing focus with ever-decreasing attention spans?   Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston faced this challenge with her own kids and screens. She questioned how this was affecting family dynamics, education, and the mental well-being of young people.

Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age takes a deeply personal and relatable approach. Delaney opens the doors to her own family life and meets with others to explore the messy struggles over social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction.  Through poignant and unexpectedly humorous stories, paired with surprising insights from leading experts, Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age reveals how screens are shaping kids’ development. Most important- ly, it o ers actionable solutions to help adults empower kids to navigate the digital age and nd balance.

What is PACT?
PACT (Parents’ Alliance for Conscious Tech)
is a local movement of parents working together to support healthier relationships with screens and digital media. We believe our kids deserve more play, more connection, and more freedom to be kids — and that starts with families getting on the same page about media boundaries.

Eddy Hueso is the founder of PACT – Parents’ Alliance for Conscious Tech. A software engineer with 20 years of experience developing applications, including mobile apps for Meta, Eddy is also a parent of two. His work blends his deep tech expertise with a personal passion: figuring out how technology can enhance — not distract from — real life. After struggling to find the right balance of screen time in his own family, Eddy realized the need for a community-wide approach to more conscious tech use. That insight sparked the creation of PACT.
