Join us for the Queensland premiere of Stelarc: Suspending Disbelief (2025), featuring an introduction by co-director, Richard Moore.

Melbourne based artist Stelarc has always fought to escape the force of gravity. A third arm, an extra ear, a cheeky prosthetic head, and an ambidextrous hand all play parts in this lively biopic as Stelarc wrangles the intersection between humanity and technology.

Following his mantra that ‘the body is obsolete’, this film trails the Cypriot born Australian as he sets about testing the limits of his own body in a series of death-defying stunts.

This director's talk and screening form part of DEMO 3/4, an after hours experiment at the Judith Wright Arts Centre presented by Outer Space and the Institute of Modern Art.
