Sculpting with Wool: Welt Felting Workshop with Textile Artist Katarzyna Niedzielak
Event description
Sculpting with Wool: Wet Felting Workshop with Textile Artist Katarzyna Niedzielak
Textile artist Katarzyna Niedzielak (Kasia) has worked with wool and plant fibres over many years, turning them into 3D shapes, sculpture, wearable art and textiles using the ancient technique of wet felting. Kasia loves working with wool, a medium that is natural, soft, adaptable, versatile and eco-friendly, adding plant fibres to create decorative elements, texture and durability to the felt fabric.
Kasia invites you to learn how to make (and take home) a felt pod (bawl), a decorative art work. During the workshop you will learn how to felt over the resist and bring wool into 3d form without cutting anything.
Kasia has studied with renowned textile artists and sculptors Anita Larkin, Pam de Groot, Fiona Duthie and Yekaterina Mokeyeva, Judit Pocs and Gladys Paulus, experimenting with most forms of felting techniques including needle felting. She has exhibited at many community events, galleries and festivals. https://www.artbyamoeba.com/ @art_by_amoeba
