Friday, 13th December at visual diary gallery from 6pm
Sunburnt is proud to present the Cathexis fundraiser. Join us as we fundraise for the production costs of our short film 'Cathexis'.
This event brings together a number of writers, artists, and musicians in celebration of creativity and community.
Majority of proceeds from ticket sales will directly support emerging creatives helping us develop our craft and share our creative vision with the broader community. Your contribution will aid in covering production costs incurred during the making of 'Cathexis'.
That which we desire becomes us. 'Cathexis' is a short film written and directed by Zarzokimi Moss exploring the dynamic between two people watching a film together at the cinema. Cathexis portrays a dance of desire through mimesis and movement.
10% of proceeds will also be donated to African Solidarity Collective.

Rosa Cass (she/her) is a poet living on unceded Wurundjeri Country in Naarm. Her writing is a love letter to her Jewishness, queerness and her ancestors, who passed on their love of words and storytelling to her.
Hugh Offor is an Australian writer and poet living on Wurundjeri country, Naarm. His writing has been published by The Opiate Paris, and Cambridge University Press. Covering themes of belonging, desire, isolation and loss, his work seeks to unpick some knot within our shared experience.
Lucy Eidelson is a dancer, writer and performer living and creating on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Boonwurrung Country. Lucy’s work often carries a sense of strangeness, where the body is rendered dreamlike and malleable to metamorphic changes. They will be accompanied by Sam Eidelson, who is a musician and artist. He spends much of his time creating with the band Kisses.
Takeo K is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from Japan and currently based in Naarm. The 2021 release and the live-set recording under their ‘eletroconvulsoterapia’ moniker through the Boorloo label Midnight Elevator were the results of their experimentation with modular synthesizers and hardware, creating a left-field and deconstructed vision of dubstep, techno, and dancehall. Takeo continues to expand their discography with the self-released EP ‘時々•Far Away Dub’, Sydney-based Theory Therapy’s ‘Out of Season Vol. 3’, and the ‘Collage’ V/A compilation from the French label Second Ends Records.
lotus threads is a collaborative poetry and music project by poet Panda Wong and musician Hannah Wu, both based on unceded Wurundjeri land. They are interested in the relationship between collaboration and discovery; and how they can generate other possibilities for togetherness. In their performances, poetry floats over compositions of guzheng, synths and intimate vocalisations, exploring language as lived expression. lotus threads has performed at venues including Darebin Arts Centre, Miscellania, Eastmint and more.
Boyfriend TV is a 3 piece band from Melbourne/Naarm, Australia. The band was formed by Louis Avolo after the 2021 lockdowns. They played their first show in an empty art studio 2 weeks after forming. The band consists of Nathaniel Currie on electric guitar and Harry Hughes on Drums with Louis Avolo taking care of electronic production, vocals and bass guitar. They come together to form a flow of sorts where experimentation reigns supreme within the structure of traditional verse chorus songwriting. The band’s sound goes from alt-pop to post punk and indie rock but doesn’t necessarily stick to one genre. Their debut album ‘For the Teenage Soul’ is out now.
