SeamTogether
Event description
Meet Polly and Esther, two unexpected modern-day superheroes, who travel the world in their menagerie gathering clothing and stories. They are on a mission to seam together the old into the new and reduce the clothing footprint on our planet. The Seamstresses menagerie is fuelled by your stories along with ‘Esme’ the one-hundred-year-old crank sewing machine.
With needle and thread at the ready, Polly and Esther travel all over the countryside including festivals, country fairs, parks, small towns, and the big smoke. This eccentric duo can pop up in the most unexpected of places, inviting all to enter their haberdashery wonderland and share in its magic. Audiences are invited to create, experience, share and listen.
SeamTogether aims to create connections to our clothing and spark ideas of how to transform garments or fix them to give them new life. Part performance, part making space, SeamTogether fuses comic performance, audio stories and audience participation to create a hands-on experience for all ages.
