About the Facilitator

Sara Yael is a wild fermenter and multi-disciplinary artist whose passion for ancient preservation techniques was nurtured growing up in a permaculture village. This early immersion in sustainable living practices laid the foundation for her current work creating small-batch, oak barrel-aged ferments that blur the line between food and medicine. For Sara, food is the ultimate love language!

As founder of Feast for the People, Sara has taught workshops nationwide at venues including The Fermentation Festival, The Plant Fair and The Paddock Project, sharing her expertise in transforming surplus produce into nutrient-dense, probiotic-rich foods. Since returning to Mullumbimby, her focus has deepened on building community resilience through food sovereignty and traditional skills. Sara's workshops are hands on, down to earth sensory experiences that are curated to engage all senses, and create meaningful connections that transcend the merely educational.
