Event description

The blitz will have a strong focus on a new orchard area and setting up more food production and possibly putting in a chicken area.

Lyndal already has garden beds, food production, and bees on the property so this is a great opportunity to get some ideas as well as make improvements.

Jobs will include:

    • Build tyre wall around orchard including some underground drainage
    • Dig swales into planting area ready for fruit trees.
    • Covert cubby into a chook house.
    • Set up two wicking beds (scoria & soil)
    • Raspberries: cut old canes, tie up new ones
    • Rejuvenate compost area including replacing pallets and a general turn over (might be enough in there to fill wicking beds)
    • Some spring planting or potting up seedlings
    • Tree needs a branch pruned to let more light onto veggie patch

Children are welcome to participate. However please be aware that there are general hazards on the property, and children will need to be supervised across the day.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided by the host, so registration is essential for catering purposes. Please register a FREE ticket for each attendee (including children) and advise any dietary requirements.

    What to bring:

    • gardening gloves
    • sun gear (hat, sunscreen, long sleeved shirt etc)
    • covered shoes
    • water bottle
