Event description

Join good friends Rhett Davis and Mark Mupotsa-Russell for a special night of conversation with Brooke Davis.

Rhett Davis is from the Wadawurrung Country of Geelong and its nearby coastal towns. His debut novel, Hovering, won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript in 2020, and was shortlisted for the Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction and the Aurealis Award for Best Science Fiction. His new novel Arborescence is a strikingly original, deeply moving novel about people who believe that if they stand still for long enough they will become trees.

Mark Mupotsa-Russell lives on Wurundjeri Country in the Yarra Ranges. His debut noir thriller, The Hitwoman's Guide to Reducing Household Debt, won the 2023 Affirm Press Mentorship Award. Before writing novels, he was a screenwriter, film reviewer, cocktail columnist, PR consultant and communications adviser in the suicide prevention sector. His new novel The Wolf Who Cried Boy is part-thriller, part magic, and tells the story of six year-old Henry who believes his life is a fairy tale. As Henry and his mum try their best to hide from the mysterious ‘Wolf King’ (aka Henry's father), The Wolf Who Cried Boy explores how cycles of violence, misogyny and corruption must be broken if we ever want our children to grow up free.
